Organic not good for ya, since when???
I finally sat down to watch the documentary called "Farmageddon". It is such a touching and sad documentary it is about all these local small organic farms and how the government is attacking them, actually mostly for no reason. Seizing their products, slaughtering sheep, animals, saying they are contaminated with cow diseases, some dont even get answers. USDA saying raw milk is unhealthy for you. There are people that get healed from all kinds of allergies by consuming raw cow and goat milk, now why is this so bad?
Good point one of the girls brought up, that if a cow on a small farm gets contaminated with the (only small tiny chance) of E Coli, it is much faster and easier to get rid of that milk product then lets say a cow getting contaminated on a large plant and who knows which cow it is and and by the time it gets to be known they have to do a recall and so many people would have already consumed the milk...
I have so many questions, and thoughts on all this now... Why is it so easy to buy cigarettes or any other unhealthy food items, yet so hard to buy raw milk or Farm fresh eggs - pasture raised, from chickens that are not couped in a large facility day and night, in their own manure (no grass) just eating their junk with hormones and popping out those eggs... Why cant we have the freedom to eat what we want? Why do we need to eat what they want us to eat...?
Luckily down here in South Carolina it is still legal to buy/sell raw cow milk and all the other goodies of fresh organic food, unprocessed meats, eggs, etc. But I never realized how much all these farmers have to go through in order to provide to us all this great food! I always thought that they overprice their foods, now come to realize they only have to because they have to spend so much money taking the foods to get "inspected" so to speak, go through a ton of paperwork (actually as much as big companies go through) and of course their prices will be much higher! The government will do whatever it takes to bring down the small guys.
Slowly but surely, Im becoming an organice freak...
